Citizens of the older generation are carriers of knowledge and experience, make a significant contribution to the aggregate intellectual potential, to the socio-economic development of the Russian Federation, strive for labor activity, are the creators of a significant part of material wealth, actively participate in the processes of social development, preserve and increase the wealth of culture countries and pass it on to young generations, act as custodians of the most important spiritual and moral values and provide connection and solidarity between generations.
According to the Strategy of Action in the Interests of Citizens of the Older Generation in the Russian Federation until 2025, it is necessary to focus on creating a society for all ages, including creating conditions for using the knowledge, experience, potential of older citizens, showing concern for such citizens and providing them with the necessary assistance.
The aim of the paper is to present the results of the research project, which deals with the development of a line of products of low-calorie, high-protein functional nutrition for the prevention of alimentary-dependent diseases (cardiovascular diseases, diabetes mellitus, obesity, osteoporosis, some malignant neoplasm, etc.), the formation of a healthy lifestyle among the older generation by providing the opportunity to optimize the diet structure and use specialized and functional foods, and to meet the needs of older people to consume high-quality protein daily without increasing the proportion of simple carbohydrates in the diet.
