Throughout the world, there has been an explosive growth in the use of digital technologies in various fields of activity, in addition, the issue of document circulation is now becoming a priority for all organizations. Digital transformation has led to dramatic changes in business, society and the global economy. As a result, new business models appear (on-line entrepreneurship, on-line banking, etc.), the infrastructure of information systems is developing, and legislation is being amended. The development strategies of many states include the transition to the digital economy. Along with the development of the digital economy, there has been a rapid development of the circular economy, which is a model of production and consumption taking into account environmental aspects throughout the life cycle of products and services. The transformation of the modern economy into a digital one should be carried out taking into account the principles of a circular economy to achieve sustainable development of the world community.
The purpose of the article is to present the results of a research project dedicated to the digital transformation of a packaging company in accordance with the principles of the circular economy and the digital economy.
The main overall goal of the project was to review the transition to electronic document management as part of the digitalization process, as well as to analyze the development of the digital economy in the context of a circular economy.
The results of the project showed that new digital technologies such as the Internet of Things, artificial intelligence and big data, together with a circular economy, can lead to the achievement of sustainable development goals.
