Global Navigation Satellite Systems is the significant means to get the information of position and time. Since 1985 China has been working on the theoretical research and technical test its own navigation satellite system. According to the development and actual situation of national economic, this system is planned to be established in three steps or phases: demonstrational system, regional system and global system.
