Description
Photovoltaic installations for direct conversion of solar energy into electricity during operation do not emit polluting substances into the environment. However, the definite amount of toxic substances is used in fabricating solar cells (SCs) and also produced at decommissioning and utilizing PV modules. For this reason, an important ecological problem is the assessment of the effect of negative factors on the environment and the human organism, when the person is engaged in production and operation of solar modules and other parts of PV installations.
In frames of the present work, assessment of the negative effect of production of solar modules based on heterostructure α–Si:H/Si SCs (HIT) and multijunction InGaP/GaAs/Ge has been studied. A comparative analysis has been performed for solar power plants based on planar and concentrator PV modules based on InGaP/GaAs/Ge multijunction SCs and planar modules based on heterostructure α–Si:H/Si SCs with peak generated power of 1МW.
